CARDS – Set of 5 from works of Margarita Tsangari
A set of five art cards reproducing works by Margarita A. Tsangari, mother of printmaker Hambis Tsangaris and a distinctive self-taught Cypriot folk artist. Born in Kontea, Tsangari drew upon memories of village life, the Cypriot countryside, family traditions and the everyday world she knew before displacement in 1974.
The card shown reproduces a work dated 1982, in which flowering plants and pomegranates are rendered with delicate lines and vivid colour. Tsangari’s deeply personal visual language grew from lived experience and memory, transforming familiar plants, customs and scenes of rural Cyprus into intimate records of a way of life.
Each pack contains five different cards wrapped with a ribbon.
Envelopes not included.
