Section of Larnaca, on the Island of Cyprus

A scene showing part of Larnaca, viewed from the Venetian Consulate. Buildings and rich vegetation surround a small lake, likely one of the marshes for which Larnaca was known during the Ottoman period. Flags of various consulates are visible, reflecting the city’s role at the time as the seat of all foreign diplomatic missions. Around the lake, a few figures in Ottoman dress can be seen.
